8 SIMPLE WAYS TO ENJOY LIFE THIS YEAR 2023

Lifestyle

Hello, my dear readers! This is my first post this year 2023 and I was a little bit absent from blogging for a few weeks. I took time off online and just enjoy the moment around family and friends and just traveled nearby to explore some hidden gems in town.

Most people would love to have their New Year’s resolutions but I don’t believe in those things,  but rather have an affirmation to myself of what I would love to do this year. I make a list of my goals this year (simplified and realistic goals) and I will check it off once I accomplished them. Do you do the same method of goal-setting as me?

I would like to share with you some of my goals this year 2023.

1. DECLUTTERING, MINIMIZING, AND ORGANIZING

I have been decluttering in the past and I could say, it makes a difference to me physically and mentally. You can easily find your things if it is organized and it saves time as well. It gives mental clarity and you have more space and time to do the more important stuff in life.

I will continue to do these activities in the future. I will also upgrade some things that are multi-purpose and easy to keep.

2. SIMPLIFY LIFE

A simple to-do list for me is more productive. Instead of doing several things at once, it is important to focus on the quality of each of the things you do. The same goes for having relationships. A few good friends and family members that contribute to good mental health are worth keeping.

A simplified calendar of events is great and learning how to say “no” whenever you don’t feel good is powerful to your well-being.

3. KEEPING TRACK OF MY SPENDING

A record of receipts and purchases is a good way to track your expenses. Sure, a cup of $5 coffee once in a while is a great reward but if you do it several times a week, it can slowly ruin your budget.

Have an emergency savings fund because life is uncertain, we never know what happens next.

I make sure to be intentional with my expenses and ask questions before purchasing a product.

4. CONSUME MORE WHOLE FOODS

Healthy eating does great wonders for your body. Lesser illness and a stronger immune system. I prefer home-cooked meals and reserve eating out on special occasions only. You can find several recipes online if you get bored with the usual food that you consume daily. Try cooking international dishes to make eating at home fun and exciting.

5. INCLUDE EXERCISE IN YOUR DAILY ROUTINE

Our modern lifestyle become busy and hectic, leaving no room for exercise and fitness. For me who works from home, I always make it a priority to move my body. A 30-minute walk in the rice fields is a great way to recharge and refresh myself.

If you’re driving and commuting, make sure to walk at least 10 minutes to your office or during your lunch break.

6. TRAVEL TO AT LEAST ONE COUNTRY OVERSEAS

Traveling to another country overseas is a rewarding experience and changes your perspective on how to view life and the world. I make sure to have a travel fund. Traveling does not always mean a luxurious lifestyle. You can travel in a frugal way by researching more about the places to stay and visit and avoiding tourist traps.

7. DON’T NEGLECT MEDICAL CHECK-UPS

As a middle-aged woman in my 40s, my body feels slightly different now from my 20s. I have a yearly body check-up that includes a mammogram and pap smear. This is highly recommended for women with children. If you are healthy, you have a positive outlook in life and you can take good care of your loved ones more.

8. BE MATURE SPIRITUALLY AND GROW

My spirituality keeps me going and active after all these years. Life is not always good, you can encounter trials and problems along the way and it is our ability to cope and be resilient that makes us strong always. A good spiritual routine makes me a better person and that includes daily Bible reading, preaching the word of God, and attending weekly and mid-week meetings.

Setting realistic goals is much better than unrealistic ones. Consistency is the key to focusing and reaching your dreams. Some unavoidable circumstances may occur but that should not keep you from doing what you want. And lastly, a simple life is an ideal life to live for me.
